Overview
A real-time multiplayer hide-and-seek game for two players: rooms, random role assignment, matchmaking and state synchronisation over WebSockets.
The task
Real-time multiplayer forgives nothing. Two clients have to see the same game state — including field of view and line of sight on a large map, without information leaking.
How it was built
The architecture separates a Next.js frontend from a NestJS backend and synchronises game state over Socket.io. Rooms, lobby and matchmaking handle entry; field of view and line of sight decide what a player is actually allowed to see.
